I love a good Anti-Haul. I’ve actually become so obsessed with reading them recently that I finally thought ‘Amy, why not write your own?’. So, ladies and gentlemen, that’s exactly what I’m going to do.
Of course, take this post with a grain of salt. There’s always going to be products that some people love and others hate, so if I do mention one of your favourite products then please don’t be offended! And with that being said, let’s get into the post.
GIGI HADID X MAYBELLINE JETSETTER PALETTE
This is the palette that has the whole blogging/YouTube community talking, and not really for the right reasons. This palette is obviously very basic – although it contains most of the products you’d need for travelling, the shades are super boring and could easily be found in pretty much any other palette you own. However, my major issue with this palette is how ridiculously expensive it is. I mean $30 for a Maybelline palette, SERIOUSLY?! I would never buy a palette like this anyways because it just doesn’t appeal to me, but the fact that they’ve pretty much doubled the price purely for a name is just ridiculous to me.
TOO FACED MELTED LATEX
I’ve never actually tried any lip products from Too Faced, but I definitely won’t be trying these. From what I’ve seen in reviews these are crazy sticky and gloopy plus they get all over your teeth – not a good look. Ultimately I just think I’d hate the feeling of this on my lips, so it definitely has to be a no from me.
FENTY BEAUTY PRO FILT’R SOFT MATTE LONGWEAR FOUNDATION
I know, I know. Honestly I’m just as disappointed in myself. I just want to clarify that this is 100% my problem, not the foundation’s. I have crazy dry skin and matte foundations totally do not work for me, which is the only reason I haven’t bought this foundation. Rihanna absolutely killed the shade range, and I love how this foundation looks on most people, unfortunately it just isn’t gonna work for me. But if you think I won’t buy a dewy foundation from Fenty Beauty as soon as it’s released (please Rihanna!) then you are totally kidding yourself.
ANASTASIA BEVERLY HILLS SUGAR GLOW KIT
I already own the Sweets Glow Kit and this is pretty much exactly the same just with two different shades, which actually really confuses me. Why haven’t they made all new shades? The main issue I have with this is that I already know I don’t like the shade ‘Marshmallow’ and ‘Butterscotch’ is way too glittery for me, so ultimately this would be a total waste of money. I do like the look of ‘Gumdrop’ though, but I know I would reach for this palette as much as I reach for my Sweets Glow Kit – which is literally never.
GLOSSIER SUPER GLOW
I had originally planned to grab this in my giant Glossier order, but after reading a lot of reviews I chose to avoid it. From what I’ve read this basically does absolutely nothing, and also goes bad really easily as it’s Vitamin C combined with water, which can cause it to oxidise and actually end up damaging your skin. For £24 I definitely expect some pretty decent results from a serum, not for it to literally do nothing. I think I’ll stick with The Ordinary, thanks.
CHARLOTTE TILBURY INSTANT EYESHADOW PALETTE
I absolutely love Charlotte Tilbury products – I would even go as far as to say that it’s my favourite brand – but for some reason this palette just seemed a bit ‘meh’ to me. Other than the Desk Eye section, everything’s a little too cool-toned for my liking, and I feel like there are too many shimmers and not enough transition shades/mattes in this palette. I’m sure the quality is amazing and the shades would look beautiful on some people, but it’s not really my kind of thing.
So that was my Anti-Haul! I would love to make this into a little series because I found it a lot of fun, so let me know in the comments what you thought about this type of post. Also let me know what products would be on your anti-haul list! See you next time,
