Anti-Haul #2

I haven’t done an anti-haul in quite a while and I’ve honestly been missing them, so today I’ve decided to do another. There are so many new makeup launches nowadays – it seriously feels like there’s one every week – but I’m definitely not that into all of them.

I also just want to mention that just because these are on my anti-haul, it doesn’t necessarily mean that they’re bad products. I’m just not a fan either because I think it’s a trend that has gone on far too long, it’s something that won’t work for my skin type or I’m just plain uninterested.

Now that that’s out of the way, here are the products I won’t be buying.

COVER FX POWER PLAY FOUNDATION

Cover FX is one of my favourite brands out there, but this is a matte foundation and I hate matte foundations. I have super dry skin and I’ve never tried a matte foundation that looks good on me, so I’m not willing to spend any money on something that might not work.

If you like matte foundations, however, I’ve heard amazing things about this foundation and its colour range is incredible – it’s just not for me.

KYLIE COSMETICS CALM BEFORE THE STORM EYESHADOW PALETTE

I honestly have no real interest in Kylie Cosmetics anymore, but this palette really doesn’t do it for me. None of the shades are anything I would ever use, it’s both colourful yet muted and totally not my thing. It would also be fairly tricky to do a full look with this palette because of the lack of crease and deeper shades – it’s a no from me.

TOO FACED UNICORN TEARS BRONZER

I’m just going to say it: I’m so sick of this unicorn trend. The packaging and the product just feels like kids makeup to me, and I flat out refuse to buy anything with a unicorn on it. I also feel like the addition of an iridescent highlighter would make this bronzer way too glittery. Can this unicorn trend just die already?

BENEFIT BAD GAL BANG MASCARA

I’ve heard such mixed reviews about this mascara that it doesn’t really seem worth wasting any money on. A lot of people have said it’s great at lengthening but it makes your lashes super clumpy, which I’m so not about (I mean, is anyone?). I also tend to prefer thicker, fluffier mascara wands than this, so I don’t think it would really work for me.

DOMINIQUE COSMETICS LATTE PALETTE

It honestly shocks me to say this, but I’m kind of over all the warm-tones. Don’t get me wrong, I still love a warm-toned eye look every now and then but it feels like every eyeshadow palette on the market is warm-toned! I probably would’ve loved this palette a year ago, but now I want something a little bronzier – can we make this happen please?

So that was my anti-haul! I hope you enjoyed this post, let me know in the comments which products you won’t be buying. See you next time,

-A x
