August Favourites 2017

August has ended, which means summer is pretty much officially over (*sobs*). Whilst it seems like everyone in the world is cheering on autumn, I am certainly not one of those people – instead I’m holding onto the last dregs of my favourite season with quite the summery monthly favourites. Here’s what I’ve been loving throughout August.

ADIDAS ADILETTE CLOUDFOAM SLIDES

I’ll admit I joined in on the sliders trend a little late into the game, but boy am I glad I did. I feel so nineties when I wear these and I’m totally all about it. These also have the Cloudfoam sole which are true to the name, it literally feels like you’re walking on clouds. I’m so obsessed with these and they’re easily the comfiest pair of shoes I’ve ever owned – they’re awesome.

SWEET LITTLE LIES BY CAZ FREAR

If you’re a fan of murder mysteries then you’ll absolutely love this. It’s about a detective who believes her own father has something to do with a missing girl, whilst also trying to figure out the case of a dead woman. I’m trying not to give too much away but this is honestly one of the best books I’ve read in a long time – even better than ‘Gone Girl’ and ‘The Girl on the Train’.

COLLECTION SPEEDY HIGHLIGHTER

I’ve had this highlighter in my collection (ha!) for quite a while now, but it was only this summer that I developed a true love for it. It gives the most beautiful, natural sheen to the skin without being sparkly or glittery and because it’s a cream it blends so well with your skin. I used this all the time on my holiday and it made me look really dewy without being too intense (you know me, I love a subtle highlight). Plus it’s only like £3, so I’d definitely recommend picking one up.

L’ORÉAL HYDRA GENIUS

I’d been wanting to try a lighter moisturiser for summer that would still leave my dry skin seriously hydrated, and after seeing so many amazing reviews on this I knew I had to give it a go. This moisturiser includes aloe vera and hyaluronic acid – two ingredients that are insanely good for dry skin – which definitely pack a punch of hydration and leave my skin feeling super soft and supple. I really love this so far, and I think I’m going to continue to use this as a daytime moisturiser but switch to something a little more intense in the evening as the weather gets cooler.

PALMER’S COCONUT OIL BODY OIL

I did an entire post about the Palmer’s Coconut Oil Formula range and how much I love it, so it’s no surprise that one of their products ended up in my favourites! I used this oil every day leading up to my holiday to make sure my skin was as moisturised and glowy as it could possibly be, and honestly it made my skin look and feel amazing! I’ve started using it again now that I’m back to rehydrate my skin after swimming in so much sea salt and it’s easily one of my favourite ever body products. I’ll definitely be repurchasing when I run out!

L’ORÉAL PARADISE EXTATIC MASCARA

My final favourite this month is the much-hyped about Paradise Mascara. I have a slight love/hate relationship with this mascara as it definitely takes a lot of effort to make work – and it sometimes leaves my right eyelashes looking so bad compared to the left, but that might be because those lashes are awful anyways – but the payoff is definitely worth it. This mascara makes my lashes look like I’ve curled them even when I haven’t, and I’ve honestly never seen my lashes look as long as they do with this mascara. The formula is quite thick and dry so I don’t think a tube will last you very long, but for me I definitely think the results are worth it.

So those were my August Favourites! Let me know in the comments what products you’ve been loving this month. See you next time,

A x
