I can’t believe we’re already eleven days into Blogmas – only thirteen days left! For today’s Blogmas post I thought it’d be a cute idea to compile a list of things you can do to get yourself into the festive spirit. Whether you want to go out and do things or stay at home and get Christmassy, this list has something for everyone.
- Go to Christmas at Blenheim.
I’ve already written a post about how awesome the light show at Blenheim Palace is – it’s definitely one of the things that has gotten me the most festive this year! It’s such a beautiful trail and the lights are amazing, I’d absolutely recommend it if you have the time before Christmas.
- Have a Christmas movie/TV marathon.
Nothing gets me in the festive mood like watching some Christmas movies/TV specials! National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation, Elf and The Holiday are definitely a must, but there are so many great ones to choose from. You also can’t beat a good comedy Christmas special. Vicar of Dibley, My Family, Royle Family and French and Saunders are my personal favourites – oh, and Gavin and Stacey of course!
- Take a trip to a Christmas Tree farm.
Christmas tree farms are one of the most festive things in my opinion, and nothing brings out my Christmas spirit like walking through a field of Christmas trees with a cup of mulled wine. Even if you aren’t going to buy a tree (although I’d definitely recommend it if you can, real trees are the best) it’s still so much fun to walk around and see what’s on offer – it’s such a perfect Christmas trip!
- Read some Blogmas posts.
This is such a simple idea, but reading other people’s Blogmas posts makes me feel so festive! Not only will it really get you into the holiday spirit, it’ll also give you some great gift ideas or recipes for you to make over Christmas. Speaking of recipes…
- Do some festive baking.
Christmas to me is all about baking, it fills the air with warm scents of vanilla and cinnamon – there’s truly nothing better! I actually have a festive recipe post coming out tomorrow, so if you’re a little tired of the traditional gingerbread then check back here for day twelve!
- Look through old Christmas photos/videos.
Is there anything cuter than reminiscing about old Christmas memories? It’s always fun to look back with your family and laugh at different baby pictures, plus it gets me super excited to carry on the Christmas traditions we’ve created.
- Visit a traditional Christmas market.
I love going to Christmas markets and seeing all the cute, festive things they have on offer. You can find some amazing gifts there too, and it really helps to get you into the Christmas spirit.
So those are some of the things I love to do at Christmas to help me feel festive. I hope you enjoyed this post, let me know in the comments what some of your favourite things to do at Christmas are! See you for an exciting post for day twelve tomorrow,
