Blogmas 2017 Day 17: My Ultimate Christmas Playlist

I really love Christmas music and could probably listen to it all year round, but I always try to wait as long as possible before listening to it so I don’t seem too crazy – which usually is around early November.

Christmas music is definitely the easiest way to start feeling festive, so I decided to create a playlist of my favourite Christmas songs for you guys! And since it’s only a week until Christmas Eve, nobody can tell you it’s too early to be listening it.

CHRISTMAS TIME (DON’T LET THE BELLS END) – THE DARKNESS

This is my favourite Christmas song ever and is somehow overlooked by so many people! Combine rock with Christmas and you have two of my favourite things, so it only makes sense that this is on my playlist.

COLD DECEMBER NIGHT – MICHAEL BUBLÉ

Everybody knows that Michael Bublé is the god of Christmas, and his own Christmas song is one of my favourites. I could happily listen to only Michael Bublé over the festive period and never get bored, his voice is just so smooth and glorious.

I WON’T BE HOME FOR CHRISTMAS – BLINK-182

Blink-182 are one of my favourite bands ever, and their Christmas song is hilarious as well as awesome. If you’re looking for something a little less traditional then give this a try for sure.

A MARSHMALLOW WORLD – BRENDA LEE

I love this song because it always reminds me of the sleepwalking scene in ‘Step Brothers’ when they throw Robert down the stairs – which, if you read yesterday’s post, you’ll know is one of my favourite movies. It’s also a total classic and therefore had to go on my playlist.

THE CHRISTMAS SONG – GREGORY PORTER

This is a new favourite for me as it was only released this year, but boy is it incredible. This has always been one of my favourite Christmas songs, but Gregory Porter has such an amazing voice that he just brings an extra little bit of something to it. If you haven’t listened to it before then you definitely need to.

FAIRYTALE OF NEW YORK – THE POGUES FEAT. KIRSTY MACCOLL

This is such a classic that I hardly feel the need to explain myself. I don’t think there’s anyone in the world who doesn’t like this song, so I had to put it on my playlist.

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE – SHAKIN’ STEVENS

I have to have a slightly more upbeat Christmas song on my playlist, and this is definitely one of the best in my opinion. I mean, you can’t beat a bit of Shakin’ Stevens, right?

WHITE CHRISTMAS – BING CROSBY

One of the most classic Christmas songs and still one of the best, I don’t think any song gets me more festive than this. There’ve been so many covers of this, but you really can’t beat the original.

So that’s my ultimate Christmas playlist! I hope you enjoyed this post, let me know in the comments what songs would be on your Christmas playlist. See you for day 18 tomorrow,

A x
