Other than autumn, winter is by far one of the best seasons for lipstick. You can go for a classic red, stick to a pretty nude or try something darker and a little more wild. I feel like you can play with texture a lot more as well; mattes, glosses and even glitters are all fair game during the festive period.
Today I’ve decided to gather up my favourite lip products for winter, here they are!
TOM FORD LIP COLOR IN ‘RORY’
Metallic light golds are not usually my go-to lipsticks, but I can make an exception for winter. This looks gorgeous in the centre of the lips to add a little pop of glitz, or you can go all-out and wear this on it’s own. I think this would look absolutely stunning on deeper skin tones, and it’s perfect for Christmas.
REVLON COLORBURST LIPGLOSS IN ‘CRYSTAL WATER’
I love a lip gloss in winter (mostly to mask my dry and cracked lips), and this one from Revlon is a really cool take on the classic clear gloss. It contains tiny blue glitters that transform any lipstick into a beautiful, iridescent shade and make your teeth look whiter – what more could you want?
CHARLOTTE TILBURY MATTE REVOLUTION LIPSTICK IN ‘SHANGHAI NIGHTS’
Whilst a classic red lip is perfect for winter, I actually think I prefer a deeper berry shade. The Charlotte Tilbury Matte Revolution lipsticks have one of my favourite ever formulas – they’re super matte but still comfortable, you can bet I’ll be wearing this on Christmas Day!
COLOURPOP ULTRA SATIN LIP IN ‘AQUARIUS’
Although a red is perfect for winter, I still have to have a pretty nude on hand. This shade is probably my perfect ever nude, it works with every makeup look and it’s satin finish means that it’s not drying at all. It’s a great shade to wear with an intense, glittery eye look.
CHARLOTTE TILBURY MATTE REVOLUTION LIPSTICK IN ‘BOND GIRL’
I wasn’t kidding when I said that the Charlotte Tilbury lipsticks were some of my favourites – I currently have five in my collection and I absolutely need more. This is the perfect shade if you don’t want to go for a full on red but want to be a little bolder than a nude – it’s kind of a toned down nude-berry that is so stunning for winter.
RIMMEL LONDONT THE ONLY 1 MATTE LIPSTICK IN ‘TAKE THE STAGE’
Of course I had to include a bright red on my list, and this one is the perfect Christmas red. It’s super matte without being at all drying, and it’s easily the most festive lipstick I own. This would look amazing paired with the Tom Ford lipstick for a sparkly Christmas party look!
So those are my perfect lipsticks for winter! I hope you guys enjoyed this post, let me know in the comments which shade was your favourite. See you for day 22 tomorrow,
