Blogmas Day 8: My Favourite Festive Food & Drink

Blogmas Day 8: My Favourite Festive Food & Drink

One of the greatest things about Christmas is indulging in festive food and drink with family. Christmas is the one time of year when I really let myself eat what I want – the food is just too good to resist. Here are my favourite festive food and drinks!

Christmas Dinner

Obviously nothing beats a proper Christmas Dinner – it’s one of the things I most look forward to at Christmas. There’s honestly not one part of Christmas Dinner I don’t love (I’m even a huge fan of Brussels sprouts), so of course it had to be on my favourite festive food list.

Clementines

Oranges to me just epitomise Christmas, we always have loads in our house because we all love them. Not only do they taste amazing, but they’re also a great way to stay a little healthy whilst also stuffing your face with chocolate.

Mulled Wine

Mulled wine is honestly my favourite thing to drink over Christmas, I just love it so much and it makes me feel so Christmassy. I actually have an amazing mulling syrup that makes it so much easier to make mulled wine, but you can easily buy bottles of the stuff in your local supermarket. I actually start drinking mulled wine in September – I’m crazy obsessed.

Cheese Balls

My snack of choice over the festive period. I’m more of a savoury kind of girl, so I’m absolutely hooked on these. Although you can buy these all year round, these always remind me of Christmas because we’ve bought them every year ever since I can remember.

Pigs in Blankets

I know I’ve already put Christmas Dinner on this list, but pigs in blankets are so good they deserve their own place. No Christmas is complete without a tray of pigs in blankets – I mean it’s sausage wrapped in bacon, where can you go wrong?

Turkey Sandwiches

There’s nothing better than eating leftover turkey sandwiches for days after Christmas is over, they’re always so delicious. They’re also super quick and easy to make, so you have more time to spend with family and relax.

Liqueur Coffee

We always go for a walk on Christmas Day, and I love getting back home and warming up by the fire with a liqueur coffee. They always taste so luxurious, and make drinking before 5pm far more appropriate.

Terry’s Chocolate Orange

This is another food that is just completely symbolic of Christmas. I always get a chocolate orange in my stocking, and in my opinion there aren’t a lot of chocolates that beat it.

Gingerbread Cookies

Me and my brother make gingerbread cookies together every year (at least once a year), and not only do they taste amazing, they make the house smell amazing too! I love decorating gingerbread cookies with glitter and icing, they’re so fun and an essential Christmas food.

Cadbury Snow Bites

I’ve had these every Christmas ever since I can remember, so these are super nostalgic for me. You can’t go wrong with icing sugar-coated chocolate, and these are great to have around the house for family and guests to snack on.

So those are my favourite festive food and drinks! I hope you enjoyed this post, let me know in the comments what your favourite food and drinks for Christmas are. See you tomorrow for day nine of Blogmas!
