One of the products I’ve been wanting to try out for ages is the Cover FX Illuminating Setting Spray, so when I saw it in London a couple of weeks ago I finally bit the bullet (and broke my no-buy!) and bought it.
I’ve only ever tried out one other thing from Cover FX, their Custom Enhancer Drops which I’m obsessed with, but I already had really high expectations. Possibly the thing I was most excited about is the packaging, the bottle is gorgeously iridescent and almost holographic, and who doesn’t love a bit of holo?
One of the things I’m most impressed with is the mist, it has such a fine, delicate spray that you almost can’t feel it hitting your face! I actually thought that the Urban Decay All Nighter had a super fine mist, but this one knocks it way out of the park. This definitely won’t disturb your makeup at all, and won’t leave those horrible drops of setting spray that ruin your makeup look.
After using this a couple of times I definitely think it makes my makeup last all day, although I think my All Nighter would possibly do a better job of making it last in seriously hot weather. I really like the finish this Illuminating Setting Spray gives my skin, it takes away any powderiness or cakiness and makes my makeup look pretty flawless.
The only issue I have with this product is I’d like it to make me look a little more glowy. I find that this gives you a soft, lit from within glow, but the glow doesn’t seem to last too long and isn’t quite as illuminating as I’d like. I do use a radiant foundation though, so maybe I’ve just reached max glow! This actually does work super well to bring life to matte foundations, and I’ve found it even makes my highlighter look more intense! However, this spray can come out a little glittery, although the glitter is very fine so you can’t really see it too much.
Overall, I do really like this setting spray and I’ll definitely continue to use it. It’s actually cheaper than the All Nighter at £22 (the All Nighter is £23.50), so I might eventually swap the Urban Decay one out for the Cover FX as they almost do the same thing! I think I probably will repurchase this in the future, as although I would like it to be a tiny bit more illuminating I do really like the finish it gives me.
I hope you enjoyed this post, let me know in the comments what your thoughts on this setting spray are, and what your favourite setting spray is! See you next time,
