Dermalogica Clear Start Review | Influenster VoxBox

Receiving an Influenster VoxBox is always an exciting thing because I love trying new products. This box was especially exciting as they’d teamed up with Dermalogica – an amazing skincare brand – to gift their two new Clear Start products.

The Clear Start range focuses on clearing breakouts and blackheads; the two new products being a Blackhead Clearing Fizz Mask and a Breakout Clearing Booster. I don’t suffer with breakouts hugely as my skin is very dry, but I do get the occasional blemish. However, thick creams to fix my eczema have left me with quite a few pesky blackheads that I’m always trying to clear, so I couldn’t wait to try the fizz mask!

Typically, fizz masks leave my dry skin even drier, and they often irritate my sensitive skin. I have to admit, I was a little wary testing this one out – but I had no issues at all! It didn’t burn or make my skin sore and red, nor did it leave my skin flaky and dry. It does contain Apple Fruit Extract to keep the skin hydrated, and I definitely think that helps.

The fizzing of this mask is the perfect amount, the bubbles feel really nice on the skin but don’t tickle or irritate. The point of the bubbles are to open up the pores and clear out the bacteria, leaving your pores clearer and tighter.

I’ve only used this mask twice but I can see my pores already look a lot smaller – especially around my nose. It has cleared my pores out a little, but I do wish it had a bigger impact immediately (what can I say, I like immediate gratification). Despite this, over a couple of days of use I’ve seen more of a difference, and I’m sure using this a couple of times a week will have a huge impact.

This also smells like ginger, which is really refreshing and feels like it’s energising the skin. I find this to leave my face feeling really clean, and I absolutely love that it doesn’t dry out my skin. You only need to leave it on for 3-5 minutes too, so it’s one of the quickest at-home facials you can do!

I haven’t really had enough breakouts to truly test the Breakout Clearing Booster, but the small blemishes I have had have practically disappeared overnight after using this. Again, this is a super gentle product, which is essential for my dry and sensitive skin, but it still gets the job done.

It can be used to spot treat or all over the face to pre-empt and stop any potential breakouts. I really like that it feels more like a serum rather than a clearing gel as this leaves my skin feeling less tight, and it’s completely clear so no one will know you have it on.

The bottle is huge too, and you press up from the bottom to disperse the product so you know you won’t be wasting any like you would with a pump. I’ll actually be travelling soon so I’ll definitely be taking these with me – I’m sure my skin will need a little help after a long flight.

Although I haven’t been testing these products out for that long, I’m actually really impressed. I still want to see the fizz mask have a little more impact on clearing out my pores, but I can’t believe that neither of these products irritate or dry out my skin. If you have dry/sensitive skin and have been looking for some blemish products that will work for you (because trust me, there aren’t many) then look no further.

I hope you guys enjoyed this post, let me know in the comments whether you’ll be trying out these new products! See you next time,

A x
