Fashion Trends I’m Loving | September 2016

Although I’m a summer lover myself, the colder weather of A/W brings the opportunity to experiment with fashion through texture, colour and layering. The A/W fashion weeks brought about a bunch of new trends that I’m really excited to try out in the coming months, and I thought I’d share with you all some of my favourites.

Statement Fur

Prabal Gurung A/W ’16

I always love a good fur jacket during winter (faux, of course), because they make any outfit look trendy and glamorous with very little effort required, so I’m super happy they’re on-trend this season. For a cheaper way to follow this trend, I love this ombré one from ROMWE, which is currently in the sale!

ROMWE – £29.29

Layers of Tan

Michael Kors A/W ’16

Neutral colours are definitely my go-to, so I love this trend! Layering with neutrals is always really fun, so it’ll be great to play with this trend and experiment with different looks. This tan jacket from Boohoo is gorgeous, and great for layering with other items.

Metallic Gold

Rachel Zoe A/W ’16

Metallics are usually a little out-there for me, but I’m willing to give this trend a go this season because I think it looks stunning! I would probably wear this for an occasion where I have to be a little more dressed up, but I’m sure it would look great for any occasion. I really love this metallic slip dress from New Look, which would look great with heels for a formal occasion or with a leather jacket and biker boots for an everyday look.

Off the Shoulder

Rebecca Minkoff A/W ’16

I’m so happy that this trend is continuing on from summer into autumn and winter, because I’ve really been loving Bardot tops and I’m not ready to give them up just yet! I’m definitely going to continue wearing this style during A/W, and I think this striped one from Boohoo will be the perfect transition from summer to winter because of the pattern and long sleeves.

Boohoo – £12

Oscar de la Renta A/W ’16

This is one trend that doesn’t seem to be going anywhere soon, and I’m definitely not mad about it. I think this is the perfect trend to bring into autumn and winter, because it adds an edgy, gothic vibe that fits perfectly with the moody weather. I especially love this vintage wrap around choker from ASOS!

ASOS – £11

Navy Overcoats

Tommy Hilfiger A/W ’16

I really love the nautical vibe of these ankle-grazing coats, and I’m so down for giving this totally chic trend a go. I’m super short so I’d definitely pair this with heels to stop it from looking like I’m being eaten alive by my jacket, but it would look just as great paired with flats for a more casual look. This military style overcoat from Very is perfectly on-trend, and much more affordable than this super expensive, albeit incredibly gorgeous, one from Tommy Hilfiger.

Velvet Everything

Rochas A/W ’16

I wasn’t too sure about whether or not I liked this trend at first, because I wasn’t sure how keen I was on velvet, but after giving it some thought I’m totally obsessed. I think a velvet cami paired with skinny jeans and a black leather jacket could look super edgy and cool, whilst remaining on-trend, and I’m now completely lusting over every velvet cami I see. This burgundy one from Urban Outfitters is my absolute favourite at the moment, and I think this colour is perfect for A/W.
