Glossybox March 2016 REVIEW

It’s that time again! My Glossybox just arrived, so I’m super excited to share with you what I got! If you haven’t heard of Glossybox, they’re a beauty box subscription service, which sends out a different box each month full of 5 exciting beauty products! They offer a variety of different subscription plans, a monthly plan which costs £10 a month plus shipping, a 3-month plan which costs £9.50 a month plus shipping, a 6-month plan which costs £9 a month plus shipping, and a 12-month plan which costs £8.50 a month plus shipping.

This month’s box was all about bringing back the glow that winter stole, just in time for Spring! In the March box you actually get six products instead of the regular five, which is extra exciting! However, there were only two full-sized products in this box which is a bit disappointing.

Luxie Rose Gold Large Angled Face Brush 504 – £10.42

This is the first full-sized product that we got in this month’s box, and it’s probably my favourite! You can never have enough make-up brushes, and this one is perfectly shaped for contouring or highlighting. The bristles are also super soft and it’s pretty good at blending, this is definitely something I’m happy to receive.

Collection Speedy Highlighter in “Pearl Sheen” – £3.99

I like the idea of this product, because the shape and packaging makes this really easy to apply to the face. The shade is a pretty gold shimmer, and it blends really easily. I’m a little bit disappointed by this product though, as it’s the only other full-sized product in the box and it’s not really anything special. Personally, I like to subscribe to things like Glossybox because it will let me try out brands I’ve never heard of or things that might be a little bit out of my price range, so to have a well-known brand that’s pretty cheap in my box just feels a little upsetting to me, because I could buy this product anywhere. This could just be me though, and if you love brands like this then maybe this box would be better for you!

Hey Honey Good Morning Honey Silk Face Serum Sample – Full Size Product Cost -£28.81

This is an interesting product, as although it’s a face serum it feels a lot like a primer. It does make my skin feel really soft and smooth though, and the addition of honey should help to keep your skin clear as it’s antiseptic and antibacterial. I’ll definitely keep using this product, and it’s a brand I haven’t heard of so if I like this maybe I’ll check out some of their other stuff!

-417 Catharsis Vitamin Mineral Shampoo and Conditioner Sample- Full Size Product Cost – £16.89 each

I love the fact that we got both a shampoo and a conditioner in this month’s box, because we often only get one of the other, so it’ll be interesting to see how well they work when used together. These use minerals from the Dead Sea to keep your hair hydrated (something we all want!) so I’m looking forward to trying these out! As the ones I got sent are sample sized, I’ll probably try them out when I travel.

Olay Regenerist Luminous Skin Tone Perfecting Cream Sample- Full Size Product Cost -£29.99

This is the final product in this month’s box, and I’m not gonna lie, it’s tiny. I’m pretty sure I’ll get a maximum of maybe four-five uses in this, but it does feel quite soft and smoothing. This promises to even out the look of discolouration and dark spots, which I – very fortunately – don’t particularly suffer with, however, this might be really helpful if you do! I do wish we’d been given a bigger size though, because the size of this is a little ridiculous.

I am slightly disappointed by this month’s box, purely because of the amount of product samples we got. We’ve also started to get quite a few more cheaper brand products in recent boxes, which I’m not super happy about. This is actually my final box (I paid for the 3-month subscription), and after this box I’ve decided I’m not going to renew my subscription. Personally, I just don’t think it’s really worth the money anymore, purely because the majority of products I get sent I just won’t ever really use. I am thinking about subscribing to another beauty box though, probably either the Look Incredible box or the Wantable box (or maybe even both!) because I know both of these boxes give all full-sized products every time, which I’m willing to spend a little bit more money to get!

However, as always, this review is just my opinion, and this month’s Glossybox might be absolutely perfect for you! If you do like the look of this box, you can subscribe to Glossybox here.

I’m glad I’m not the only one, there’s definitely been better! That Olay sample was just much too small! X
