Green People Damask Rose Velvet Matte Lipstick REVIEW

This spring marks Green People’s 20th Anniversary, an incredible achievement, and in order to celebrate they launched a special edition lipstick. Green People were kind enough to reach out to me and send me their special edition shade so that I could help them celebrate, and I’m so excited to share it with you!

Anyone who knows me will tell you I’m a nude-lip kind of gal, so this shade is right up my alley. ‘Damask Rose’ is a gorgeous nude-rose with subtle peach undertones that would look stunning on all skin tones, and it’s the absolute perfect shade for spring! It also has a beautiful matte finish which is totally on-trend, but manages to still feel moisturising on the lips instead of annoyingly drying. The formula is absolutely perfect in my opinion; I love that it’s not too creamy so it’s super long-lasting and won’t slip around, but it’s also not too hard or difficult to apply – it’s basically the Goldilocks of lipsticks! I also love using the Green People Lip Primer underneath this lipstick, as it really hydrates my lips and increases the wear time.

The thing I love most about this lipstick is that it’s completely natural and organic, as well as being cruelty-free, as are all products from the brand! I’m always on the lookout for great cruelty-free items, so this is definitely a win in my book. Despite the matte finish, this product manages to stay hydrating due to it’s ingredients of sustainable Beeswax and organic Carnauba wax to keep lips nourished, plus vitamin E to soothe and soften, so this is a lipstick that really cares for your lips.

I absolutely love the way this shade looks on me – I really think it is my perfect nude! It definitely gives a ‘your lips but better’ vibe which I’m really into, and I can see myself using this all throughout spring (and probably all year round!).

If you’re interested in getting your hands on this lipstick, it’s available to pre-order from their website from Tuesday 28th March for one week before officially launching on April 4th. This lipstick costs £15, which I think is an awesome price and is definitely worth it for the quality of the lipstick. I also have a special discount code for you guys that will get you 15% off, valid until April 31st.

I hope you enjoyed this post, let me know in the comments what your thoughts are on this lipstick and whether you’ll be picking one up for yourself! See you next time,

A x

I’m also a nude lip kid of girl! I do have some other colours but for a day-to-day look I tend to opt for a nude lip! I have yet to try this one, will need to add it to my wishlist! And I also like that it still nourishs your lips despite it being a matt lipstick. I have already very dry lips and don’t want to dry them out any further!

I’ve been after the perfect subtle nude-pink for a while and this looks amazing! I’ve never thought to use lip primer before but it sounds like the perfect companion for matte lipsticks

Oh my god I need a lip primer in my life! I hate when matte lipsticks dry out your lips so this looks amazing! Nude lipsticks are my fave too and you can never have too many! I’ve haven’t tried this brand before but it sounds promising! Xx
