June Favourites 2018

June is officially over, and it’s probably been one of my favourite months of the year so far. I finished my exams (and my first year of uni!) at the beginning of this month, which means that I’ve had practically the entirety of June to enjoy the beautiful weather that England has been having. I definitely thrive in summer, so I’m hoping this weather isn’t going anywhere anytime soon!

Since the weather has been so perfect I’ve barely been wearing any makeup, so I haven’t really tried a lot of things to gather up a new bunch of favourites. I have, however, been using a lot of Glossier products whenever I want to apply a little makeup, and I’ve totally fallen in love with them over the past month.

I’ve also tested out a few skincare products that I’ve really been loving – so without further ado, here are my June Favourites!

This is the only foundation I’ve been using throughout June, and I’m completely obsessed. It evens out my skin and adds a beautiful glow without masking anything – it completely looks like my own skin.

It also wears really well throughout the day – even though it’s super lightweight, it lasted through a whole day out at the zoo in 30°C weather without budging. Since it’s so lightweight it doesn’t get really cakey or patchy after a couple of hours wear – it’s the perfect summer foundation. I only wish it contained SPF so I wouldn’t need to worry about applying some beforehand!

Whenever I’ve needed to set my under eyes this month I’ve always been reaching for this brush. It’s a super densely packed, tapered brush which fits perfectly under the eyes to really set everything in place.

Because of its density, it works almost like a beauty blender to press the powder into your skin – kind of giving you a semi-bake. It also could be used for contour, so it’s pretty versatile!

Since I bought this, this has been pretty much the only thing I’ve used on my brows. I have quite thick brows but a lot of patches are quite blonde which makes them look really sparse, but this fills them in completely without looking heavy or drawn on.

I also feel like this really thickens my brows to make them appear a lot fluffier, and – despite it being a tinted brow gel – it keeps them locked in place all day. If I want my brows to look a little more structured then I use a brow pencil beforehand, but I can actually get away with just using this gel on its own.

I’ve only been using this for about a week but I already love it. It doesn’t contain any alcohol or parabens, plus it’s vegan, cruelty-free and carbon neutral. This leaves my skin feeling toned and refreshed, but doesn’t make my face feel dry or tight at all.

I love how mild and hydrating it is – perfect for my dry/sensitive skin – and the chamomile-rose water combination smells so relaxing. I especially love how natural this brand is, I definitely want to try more of their products!

Although I love lipstick, I barely ever wear it because I’m way too lazy to reapply throughout the day. Since I already love the Burt’s Bees original lip balm, I figured I’d try one of the tinted versions and kill two birds with one stone.

I love the shade of this, it’s a rosy coral which is totally perfect for summer. Even though it’s a balm, it’s still pretty pigmented and way less sheer than a lot of tinted balms I’ve tried. It’s also super easy to just throw on throughout the day without worrying about it looking imperfect, and since I’m always reapplying lip balms I’m quite happy to swap in a tinted one.

I can already see myself using this all throughout summer – I think I might have to try out some other shades too.

The Wowder is a product I swore I would never like, and – although I hate to admit it – I was wrong. When I first tried this, I felt like it made my skin so dry and powdery looking, which made my makeup look really cakey.

I don’t know whether it’s my skin being a little more hydrated in summer, or maybe I just didn’t give it a fair shot before, but I absolutely love this now. Although it sets my makeup, it still leaves a gentle glow beneath it so I don’t look too matte or flat. I’ve been using this to set my under eyes and it’s become one of my favourite powders – I’m so glad I gave it another chance.

So those were my June favourites! I hope you guys enjoyed this post, let me know in the comments what you’ve been loving this month. See you next time,

A x
