I’m so excited to be reviewing this foundation, I’ve been wanting to write this post for the past week and a half! Unfortunately I had to take some time off to recover from my heart surgery, but I’m too impatient to wait any longer and I just can’t wait to start blogging again.
I don’t think I’ve ever wanted to share how much I love a foundation before, but I’ve seriously found my dream one. If I ever created a foundation, this would be that foundation.
This is the first Kevyn Aucoin product I’ve ever tried, but I already knew how high quality this brand was so I knew this was going to be a good foundation – I just had no idea how good.
First of all the packaging is absolutely stunning – it looks super high end but it’s also plastic so you don’t have to worry about the bottle ever breaking. I love that it has a pump which is completely flat too, meaning that it’s easier to use and it doesn’t need a lid.
The formula of this is what is so amazing, it has a serum-like consistency which makes it super easy to blend and leaves a gorgeous, dewy finish. It also contains hyaluronic acid, which is a major plus for my dry skin. If you’re a full-coverage fan then this definitely won’t be for you – it’s very light coverage but it is a little buildable. I would say this is the perfect combination of a tinted moisturiser and a foundation (i.e. my ideal foundation), it evens out skin tone without masking my actual skin.
I have the shade Medium 6, which is my perfect summer shade. This foundation actually comes in 16 shades, with 5 light shades, 6 mediums and 5 deeps. I do think that the shade range could be extended a little, but it’s definitely better than a lot out there.
This is by far the best foundation for summer, it leaves my skin looking super radiant and healthy but still very natural – plus it feels like I’m wearing nothing. I really love that my skin is able to show through this foundation, and I feel like the hyaluronic acid also plumps my skin and makes it look totally flawless.
One of my favourite things about this foundation is that it’s best applied with your hands, which makes it super quick and easy to use – plus it’s great for travelling. I wouldn’t say this is super long-lasting, but it’s lasted practically all day on me every time I’ve worn it.
It’s definitely not the cheapest foundation out there at £46, but for me it’s totally worth it because it’s genuinely the best foundation I’ve ever tried. I also feel like it’ll last a seriously long time because you barely need any to cover your entire face, so I’m very happy to make the splurge.
I have to say I’m insanely impressed with this foundation, and it’s definitely made me want to try more Kevyn Aucoin products in the future.
I hope you guys enjoyed this post, let me know in the comments whether or not you’d ever try this foundation! See you next time,
