If you’ve been with me since the early days you may remember a blog post I did about getting some piercings from Metal Morphosis back in 2017. Back then they were situated in the Topshop on Oxford Street, but they have since opened a new studio on Hackney Road and I was lucky enough to be invited to get a couple of new piercings!* I loved my original visit, so I couldn’t wait to visit them in their own space.
The new location is in Shoreditch, around 40 minutes from Euston, so if you’re like me and travelling from outside of London there’s plenty to do to make a day of your piercing trip!
I’ve been a huge fan of the brand since my first visit – they’re super cool and edgy and the new studio really encompasses that whole vibe. You get such a good sense of the brand as soon as you step into the studio; their lightning bolt logo is stamped everywhere, and there are so many Instagrammable spots to show off your new piercings.
What I love most about Metal Morphosis is that they’re not only really on-trend, they’re also incredibly knowledgable and will help you decide the perfect piercing for you. Metal Morphosis don’t just do piercings, they curate the perfect ear stack, which is exactly why I keep going back to them – it’s a totally different experience from any other piercing place I’ve been to. They also do tattoos and body piercing if that’s what you’re after!
My piercer was absolutely amazing, she was so friendly and recommended the perfect studs which would pair well with the pieces I was already wearing. She took the time to hear exactly what I was after, and really made sure the placement was perfect.
I decided to get two piercings to add to my stack this time: the conch on my left ear, and my second lobe on the right. Each piercing does come with standard jewellery, but you can choose non-standard jewellery for an extra charge. We went for these little diamanté gold studs to add some sparkle, but they have so many beautiful options for you to choose from no matter your metal or style preferences.
Everything was very hygienic – and the entire studio is Covid-secure – so I felt totally at ease during my whole experience. The piercings themselves were done so quickly and practically painlessly (or as painless as cartilage piercings get!).
The staff here are not only knowledgable on piercing curation, but will tell you everything you need to know about aftercare, and even offer an aftercare kit too! Whether you’re getting your first piercing or your fifteenth, you’re definitely in the best hands here.
I chose to go pretty simple with jewellery while the piercings are still healing, however they have so many gorgeous pieces at the front of the studio that you can buy for once your piercings have healed, or for any piercings you already have. I already have my eye on a couple for when I’m ready to switch them out! Metal Morphosis will also fit their jewellery for you for free.
Their jewellery is really high quality at affordable prices, and they also use high grade surgical steel so even the most sensitive skin types are catered for!
I had an absolutely amazing experience at Metal Morphosis’ new studio, they have such a friendly and welcoming atmosphere and getting to see them in their own space was really awesome. If anything, this experience actually topped my first time visiting back in their Topshop days, and without a doubt I will be back soon for more piercings! If you’re after new, completely curated piercings, look no further.
I hope you guys enjoyed this post, and let me know if you’ve ever visited Metal Morphosis or if you plan to visit their new studio! See you next time,
