My Experience with a Derma Roller | REVIEW *AD

I’ve heard of derma rolling and how amazing it’s supposed to be for your skin, but I always assumed it was a procedure that needed to be done in-house and would be quite expensive. When Derma Roller System reached out to me to offer me their at-home Derma Roller, I was beyond excited that I could finally try it out for myself!

If you haven’t heard of derma rolling before, it’s a procedure using 200 micro-fine needles on a roller that triggers the body’s natural healing process to leave you with brighter, younger looking skin.

I just turned 21 this year and, as a sufferer of super dry skin, I’m starting to get fine lines on my forehead already. This is something I’d definitely like to reduce, so I’m really hoping that this will help me out.

HOW IT WORKS

The 200 extremely fine medical-grade needles open the pores in your skin, allowing the skin to start its natural healing process and create new, healthier tissue. This also helps to promote collagen production, leaving you with smoother, brighter and firmer skin.

The Derma Roller can also be used to reduce scarring, cellulite on the body and encourage hair growth. They have needle sizes spanning from 0.5mm to 2.5mm, and you can use their guide to buy specifically for your needs.

One of the greatest parts about Derma Rolling is that it only takes one to two hours for the skin to repair, allowing enough time to produce new collagen but also meaning that there’s no real recovery time. This process also allows your skincare products to penetrate deeper into the skin, making them more effective and helping to improve your skin!

I chose the 0.5mm needle because it seemed the least intimidating and I also didn’t feel I needed anything too extreme. This needle size is also the one you can use most frequently, so I liked the idea that I could do this once or twice a week.

I have to admit that I was a little scared to use this in case it was painful, but it really wasn’t at all. It was a little uncomfortable to use on my forehead, purely because it’s closer to the bone, but nothing that caused me actual pain.

My skin felt a little sensitive afterwards and looked a little red – it almost felt like I had sunburn – but that went down within an hour and I was left with truly the best skin of my life.

I followed up the procedure with their Collagen Mask and Anti-Aging Serum which I really noticed plumping my skin, and they were also amazing for cooling and calming my skin down. I’ve continued using the Anti-Aging Serum daily since and I really feel like it’s helped to prolong my results!

I could see my skin looking brighter and plumper almost instantly, but what really shocked me was how even my skin was. I’ve always had some redness just from having sensitive skin, but instead it looked like I was wearing foundation!

Although I did notice that my fine lines were a little less noticeable, they hadn’t completely vanished. I think after continued use they would probably get to the point of being practically non-existent, because obviously nothing is that much of a miracle product, but I was a little disappointed it didn’t happen immediately!

Overall I’m super impressed with the Derma Roller, I saw such a huge change in my skin’s tone and brightness immediately and I can’t wait to see how it improves my skin in the long-term. I’ll definitely give you guys an update so you can see the changes for yourself!

If you would like to try a Derma Roller out for yourself, you can grab one here for $99.95 (£78.90).
