I realise that autumn is nearly over and we’re about to head into winter, however I really wanted to write this post so I decided to do it anyway! Almost all of these lipsticks fall into the ‘dark lips for autumn’ category, however I do have a couple of nude shades that I also love wearing around this time of year! Here are my favourite lipsticks for autumn.
Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butter in ‘Raspberry Pie’
I love these lipsticks because they’re super creamy and really pigmented. This is a great shade for people who don’t want to wear super dark lipstick; it’s a deep magenta that still looks autumn-appropriate, but the glossy finish gives this lipstick a softer look which is the perfect way to try stepping out of your comfort zone.
MAC Lipstick in ‘Brave’
This shade is one of the most perfect nudes for autumn; it’s a gorgeous mauve-y pink that is really flattering for all skin tones, plus the formula is really pigmented and it has a gorgeous satin finish. I honestly can’t recommend this enough.
Rimmel London ‘The Only 1’ Matte Lipstick in ‘The Matte Factor’
I love this lipstick, it lasts for hours and stays completely matte but it doesn’t dry out my lips! I’ve raved about this lipstick so many times so I won’t go into too much detail, however this shade is really stunning. It’s a gorgeous, deep red-plum shade that is just one of my favourites to wear at this time of year.
Soap & Glory Super-Colour Fabulipstick in ‘Perfect Day’
I believe Soap & Glory have reformulated and renamed this lipstick to the Sexy Mother Pucker lipsticks, so I won’t talk about this formula because it’s no longer for sale and I haven’t tried out the new formula. However, they still make this shade and it still has the same satin finish which is something I really love about this lipstick. This is a gorgeous rust/brick shade which I think looks great on any skin tone, and I absolutely love the look of this lipstick.
Kat Von D Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in ‘Nosferatu’
Although I sometimes have some issues with the patchiness of this lipstick – I find filling in my lips beforehand with a lip liner in a similar shade really helps with this – I love this really deep wine shade for autumn and the matte finish it has. This shade might be a bit too ‘out there’ for some people, however I think it would look really beautiful on all skin tones, and it really is the absolute perfect lipstick for autumn
Clinique Chubby Stick Intense in ‘Curviest Caramel’
You could definitely wear this lipstick in any season, however I always find myself reaching for this lipstick during autumn if I want a subtle nude lip. This is a beautiful nude with warm undertones, and it’s so easy to just throw on without having to be really precise, which is something I love about the chubby sticks. It’s also super moisturising, which is perfect for this colder weather!
NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in ‘Walkyrie’
I’m obsessed with the NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencils, and NARS in general, they’re so easy to apply, they’re really pigmented and they last forever. I especially love this shade for autumn, it’s a really pretty deep rust shade that is bordering on brown, and it nails the 90’s look perfectly.
So those were my favourite lipsticks for autumn! Let me know in the comments below what your favourite autumn lipsticks are, and if you’ll be trying out any of these. See you next time!
