My Hair Care Routine ft. Shea Moisture

I used to have really wavy hair, but after years of straightening, curling and just general damage, my hair had lost its curl. I’ve always preferred my hair wavy (I think that’s because it’s my natural style and therefore suits me the best) but I didn’t realise how cute my natural waves were until they were gone.

Over the past year I’ve been really trying to get my hair into good shape and restore my natural waves. I tried sulphate-free shampoos and washing with just conditioner, and after a lot of testing I’ve finally found my perfect hair care routine.

My hair would go really wavy on holidays, I think mostly due to the humidity and salty air, but it never lasted when I got home. Using conditioner to wash my hair really helped to bring those waves back to life – I finally had the hair I wanted without having to style it with heat! – but it also made my hair greasy faster, so I needed a different solution.

When I received the Shea Moisture Fruit Fusion range, I had hopes that this would keep my hair clean but also give me the beachy waves that I wanted.

I’ve realised recently that a huge part of keeping my waves is giving my hair the hydration it needs, and this range is amazing for that. It contains coconut water, imbe oil and aloe to deeply moisturise without adding any heaviness – which is essential for my already thick and heavy hair.

The shampoo cleans my hair without stripping it, and the crème rinse is perfect for added hydration – however, I actually use the hair masque as my general conditioner because I find that this makes my hair the most wavy, and it really feels like it’s nourishing my hair.

One of my favourite things about this range is the scent, it’s fresh and fruity which is perfect for summer!

I’ve been avoiding using heat on my hair for the past couple of years now, but I love using the Aquis hair towel to dry my hair without causing any damage like an ordinary towel would. I also find my hair dries a lot faster when I use this, and it helps to control my flyways.

I’m so impressed with how my hair looks now, I no longer use any heat on it and I’ve never loved it more! I love not having to worry about my hair because it means an extra few minutes in bed, so these products have definitely become holy grails for me!

I hope you guys enjoyed this post, let me know in the comments whether you’ve tried Shea Moisture before and what your thoughts are! See you next time,

A x
