Natural makeup has been my go-to lately, and that includes lips too. Although I think of myself as something of a lipstick fiend, my lips are so pigmented that I barely bother to wear it anymore – and I definitely don’t bother touching up.
My pink lips make most nude lipsticks look pretty similar, so I’ve fallen in love with tinted balms that amplify my natural lip colour rather than cover it up. Enhancing rather than concealing is the main basis behind my makeup nowadays, and I’m totally loving it.
I’ve been a huge fan of Burt’s Bees products for a long time, and their tinted lip products definitely fit my ‘no-makeup’ makeup vibe. I was lucky enough to be sent a few of their tinted lip products, as well as their brand new Conditioning Lip Scrub, so I decided to show you how I use these to create my favourite ‘your lips but better’ lip look.
I used the Burt’s Bees Conditioning Lip Scrub to prep my lips before applying any makeup, which ensures your lips are kept super soft. Sugar scrubs are essential in keeping your lips exfoliated, so I’m really glad that Burt’s Bees have added one to their line.
I do think that this could be a little scrubbier (is that a word?) as it’s quite a fine scrub, but I do love that it has a balm-like consistency that keeps my lips feeling super hydrated. I don’t mind that it’s not too harsh though, as some scrubs can cut my lips up a little, but this just makes them nice and smooth.
I’ve spoken about the Burt’s Bees Lip Balms so many times on my blog, so it’s no wonder that I’m just as obsessed (if not more) with the Tinted Lip Balms. They’re super hydrating and are actually really pigmented for a tinted lip balm.
Lip balms are the one thing that I make sure I always have on me so I can reapply throughout the day, so I love having a tinted one that can make me look a little more put together.
I have the shade ‘Red Dahlia’ which is a gorgeous berry-red, perfect for transitioning into A/W, and this is my current go-to for this kind of lip look. It’s absolutely stunning on its own, and I love how it gently deepens my lip colour without being too intense.
I’ve had the Burt’s Bees Tinted Lip Oil on my wishlist for a long time, so I was super excited to finally try it out. A lip oil is a great, hydrating alternative to a lip gloss if you want to add some extra shine to your lips.
I love how lightweight this feels, and although it’s an oil it doesn’t feel like it will slide all over your face.
I have the shade ‘Rustling Rose’, which I used on top of ‘Red Dahlia’ to just bring back a touch of rosiness, as well as adding some extra shine.
I love the way this lip look turned out, it’s incredibly natural but still looks really put together. I especially love that it not only looks good, but it’s also good for your lips too. Burt’s Bees products are all really natural and actually help to hydrate your lips, rather than just make you need to use lip balm even more – which is why I love them so much.
I hope you guys enjoyed this post, let me know in the comments whether you liked this look and which of the products you’d most like to try out! See you next time,
