So October came and went in the blink of an eye – anyone care to tell me how 2018 is almost over? I mean, I’m not complaining, Christmas is just around the corner and that’s my favourite holiday.
This month has been full of new things to try (thank you student loan), so I actually have a full list of favourites for once! I’ve really fallen in love with these products too, so I can’t wait to share them all with you.
CHARLOTTE TILBURY BAR OF GOLD PALETTE
I actually reviewed this palette just the other day and I’m so obsessed with it. When I first received it I was a little surprised by the look of the texture – it looks a lot firmer than other highlighters and it looked worryingly glittery.
Luckily that wasn’t the case, instead it actually looks wet and like a natural sheen on the skin. I haven’t stopped using this since I bought it, and I love that there’s a shade for every skin tone too! If you’re looking for a good highlighter palette, you definitely need to check this out.
DRUNK ELEPHANT LALA RETRO WHIPPED CREAM
Another product I reviewed recently – I’ve become so obsessed with Drunk Elephant this past month, I finally understand the hype behind the brand. This is the most hydrating moisturiser I’ve ever used, but it doesn’t feel too heavy or thick.
Since using it for the past month I no longer have any dry patches and my skin is softer than ever! They also just reduced the price from £60 to £50, so I can feel a little better about repurchasing (because I seriously can’t live without this moisturiser).
DRUNK ELEPHANT VIRGIN MARULA LUXURY FACIAL OIL
This is the only other product I’ve tried from Drunk Elephant so far, and it impressed me almost as much as the moisturiser. It feels very luxurious (hence the name) and gives my skin that added boost of moisture, which is very much needed during this cold weather.
I use this every evening after my moisturiser and I really feel like it amps up the hydration – it’s such a nice addition to my skincare regime!
CHARLOTTE TILBURY HOLLYWOOD FLAWLESS FILTER
I haven’t stopped raving about this since I bought it – so much so that my mum actually ended up trying it (and, of course, loving it) so now she’s bought one for herself!
If you’re looking for something to add some glow to your makeup, this is it. It can be used under foundation as a radiance booster, alone as a super glowy foundation or as a really natural liquid highlighter. I’m so impressed by this product and I’d absolutely recommend grabbing one for yourselves (although definitely go up a shade or two as these are very light!).
CHARLOTTE TILBURY EYES TO MESMERISE CREAM SHADOW IN ‘JEAN’
Anything that makes my makeup routine faster and easier is a must-have for me, and this is exactly that type of product. I can just blend some brown shadow into the crease, pat this onto the lid and bam – I have the prettiest, glowiest eye look ever.
The best thing about this cream shadow is that it doesn’t crease or move, it lasts through an entire day of lectures which is all I can ask from a shadow. I actually loved this so much that I went and bought other shades – that’s how you know it’s good!
PETER THOMAS ROTH WATER DRENCH HYALURONIC CLOUD SERUM
If you’ve read my blog before then you’ll know that the Water Drench moisturiser is a total staple in my skincare routine, so when I went to buy another pot from Beauty Bay and saw that I could get a set with the serum, cleanser and moisturiser in for the price of the moisturiser alone (only £41!), you can bet I got pretty stoked.
I’d wanted to try the serum for a while and I’d actually been looking for one to incorporate into my routine, so I was so excited to try this out. I love that it contains hyaluronic acid, and it’s also really light and almost water-like on the skin but still majorly hydrating.
URBAN DECAY LO-FI LIP MOUSSE IN ‘FADE’
I had been wanting to try out this lip mousse since its release date, but I was waiting to actually see it in person so I could pick the perfect shade. I finally got my hands on the shade ‘Fade’, a gorgeous rosy-brown that gives me all the 90s vibes.
My favourite way to apply lipstick is by smudging and blotting it onto my lips so it looks like more of a flush, and this is the perfect product to do that with. You can go light-handed for a slight tint or go heavier for an intense colour – it even includes an applicator for a precise finish if that’s more your style.
The matte finish is super matte without being drying, and the formula lasts a really long time on the lips – I’m so glad I finally picked it up!
So those are my favourites from this month, let me know in the comments what you’ve been loving throughout the month of October! See you next time,
