PMD Personal Microderm REVIEW

You guys know how much I love my skincare, and I’m always on the lookout for new ways to make my skin look it’s best. I’ve always wanted to try microdermabrasion as I’ve heard it can do amazing things for dry skin, but the high price point has meant that it’s never been a possibility for me. So when I was offered the chance to try the PMD Personal Microderm you can bet I jumped on it! I’ve been using this device for about a month now so I feel like it’s the perfect time to share my thoughts.

This tool is an amazing idea, because although it retails at £135 which is a little up there in price, a single microdermabrasion treatment at a clinic can cost anything up from £60, so you’re really saving a lot of money in the long-run! If you don’t know much about microdermabrasion, it’s basically an extreme exfoliating treatment in which a suction device is used to remove the outer layer of dead skin cells. This creates smoother and brighter skin and allows skincare products to become more effective as they can penetrate deeper into the skin. Normally this treatment takes place in a clinic, but the PMD allows you to perform the treatment in the comfort of your own home (which is great for lazy girls like me!).

I was initially a little wary about this device as I have super sensitive skin and I was concerned that the powerful exfoliation might irritate it, but because of the wide range of discs they have – varying from the training and sensitive discs to medium and coarse – I didn’t have any problems at all! Since using this for a month I’ve actually noticed that my dry skin has gotten a lot better, I think because my skincare products are a lot more effective now – I no longer have horrible dry patches along my T-Zone!

This tool also promises to reduce fine lines, wrinkles and pores, and whilst I don’t particularly have an issue with wrinkles just yet, I have noticed my pores have massively decreased in size, I actually can barely see them anymore! Although I don’t have a major issue with breakouts since I’ve changed up my beauty routine, this tool would be great for oily and acne-prone skin types as it removes all the dirt and dead skin cells from your face, preventing clogged pores. The device also includes body discs which I haven’t tried yet, but I’m super excited to use them now that we’re approaching summer!

I have to admit, I was a little scared to use this tool at first because incorrect use can cause permanent damage to the skin, but it’s so much easier to use than I could have imagined. You are provided with a DVD that you need to watch which teaches you exactly how to use the device – they also have tutorials on YouTube and their website if you’d prefer to watch them there. I found these videos so handy and they really made me more confident that I wouldn’t mess up! You should also start with the training disc and test it on your arm first, this allows you to get used to the suction and doesn’t over-exfoliate for your first time.

I honestly can’t believe how much I love this device, I definitely did not expect to see the results that I have gotten! I really think that this would be a life saver for all skin types, and I can’t wait to continue to use it and update you guys in a couple of months! If you’re interested in trying out this device, you can purchase one here.

I hope you enjoyed this post, let me know in the comments what your thoughts are on this device and if you would try it! See you next time,

A x
