Glitters are probably one of the most popular products in makeup right now, and for good reason – they really add a touch of glam to any look. The idea of glitter is very fun to me, but I’m such a lazy person that I really need it to be hassle-free.
These glitters I received from PÜR Cosmetics are really the answer to my lazy prayers. They have a 3-in-1 formula which means that they can be used alone, as an eyeshadow base or as a glitter top coat.
I’m a huge fan of PÜR Cosmetics as a brand because they’re cruelty-free, gluten-free and vegan friendly – plus they don’t use any of the nasty ingredients that could damage your skin. This is especially important for me because I have such sensitive skin that products like this would usually irritate me – but luckily these don’t!
The packaging is very simple and clean, which I really love. I like that you can also see the product so you can easily pick out the right shade. These are a little smaller than I expected, but since you only need a very small amount I think these will last a fairly long time.
I received the shades ‘Queen’ (a light gold with silver and gold glitter), ‘Namaslay’ (a rose gold with silver, pink and green/gold glitter), ‘Lust’ (a reddish copper with silver and gold glitter) and ‘OMG’ (a bronze with rainbow glitter). Each of these shades are insanely pigmented with just one swipe, but can easily be sheered out whilst wet if you’d prefer a more subtle look.
All of these glitters are super reflective and have an extremely metallic – almost wet – look on the eyes. Under lights these look absolutely beautiful, and really could almost blind someone with how shiny they are. My personal favourite shade is ‘Namaslay’ because the glitters shift depending on the lighting – it looks really silvery in artificial light but almost like shattered stained glass in natural light, it’s ridiculously beautiful.
I used ‘Namaslay’ on the inner two-thirds of my lid to create this smoky, rose gold look and I really love how it turned out. The reflective glitters just take this look to another level and make it a lot more glamorous.
I was actually surprised by how easy these were to apply. The spatula-style applicator makes it so easy to get an even coat and although these dry down fairly quickly, you have a decent amount of time to blend them out.
My favourite way to apply these is as a topper after doing the rest of my eye makeup to really pull the look together. I then just use a little bit of eyeshadow to blend the glitter and shadows together and voilà! It really is the easiest way to create a glam look with barely any effort.
I was genuinely surprised by the lack of fall out with these glitters – I’m so used to having glitter all over my face but this was a very welcome change. These also don’t crease up on me (which is a miracle) and last all day – just try not to rub your eyes because then you really will be covered in glitter.
I was a little worried that these would be scratchy or difficult to remove but they’re totally not! I just take a cotton pad with eye makeup remover and with one swipe the glitter is gone (although I do end up having a sparkly face for days afterwards).
Whilst I love using these as an intense topper, I also really like them sheered out. They look so pretty tapped on bare eyelids or on top of a neutral shadow for a more natural, sparkly look. I haven’t tried them as a base coat yet as I’m not sure how that’ll work but I’ll let you guys know!
I have to say I’m insanely impressed with these glitters – I just can’t believe something so easy works so well! If you like the look of these then you can grab the full set of five (including a charcoal glitter) for £32 ($39) here!
I hope you guys enjoyed this post, let me know in the comments what you think of these glitters. See you next time,
