Recent Beauty Purchases

It’s been a while since I last did a Recent Purchases post, and since it’s just been my birthday and I live by the motto of Tom Haverford and Donna Meagle (if you know, you know), it seems like the perfect time to do another! Although I have definitely picked up a few items that I didn’t necessarily need, I had also run out of a bunch of items all at the same time – you know how it is – so some of these purchases are also a kind of restock and replace. Here are my recent purchases!

I’ve seen quite a few YouTubers using these brushes recently, so of course I had to pick them up – I mean, you can never have too many eyeshadow brushes, right? Not only do these look super luxurious with their gold handles, but the bristles are also super soft and quite dense, so they blend like a dream. I picked up the Y15 for a slightly bigger, rounder crease brush, as I used to own one just like this from Real Techniques but I ended up losing it (sobs). I also grabbed the Y22 brush because I was in serious need of a softer pencil brush, and this one definitely hits the mark.

I recently finished my Benefit They’re Real Mascara and wanted to find a new, better one that was also cruelty-free. I’d heard so much about the Better Than Sex Mascara and knew it was so many people’s holy grail, so it only made sense that I tried it out for myself. I honestly used this once and immediately knew it was also my new holy grail mascara – it’s honestly that good. It lengthens and curls even my super straight lashes, and gives dreamy volume without any clumps. I really can’t say a bad word about this mascara, I’ve officially joined the obsession and there’s no turning back.

The BeautyBlender Solid is honestly the best and easiest brush and sponge cleanser I’ve found, and after finishing my first solid there was no doubt in my mind that I would repurchase. This cleans my BeautyBlender in a way nothing else I’ve ever tried does, it really gets all the makeup out from the inside of the sponge and is amazing for deep cleaning brushes too. It’s a little expensive, but it’s totally worth it.

I’ve been trying to find a new under eye concealer that doesn’t crease as much as the NARS Radiant Creamy, and after reading lots of great reviews I decided to try this one. I really hated this at first; it had pretty much no coverage, especially compared to my NARS concealer, and was really drying – I felt like I had made the biggest mistake. Not wanting to waste my money, I tried this again after colour correcting and it worked a lot better, mainly because my colour corrector gave me a lot of coverage and is a lot creamier than this concealer so took away from the dryness. Applying it this way makes me like this concealer a lot more, however it’s a lot of steps for something that a concealer should be able to do itself, so I don’t think I’ll repurchase.

I saw this palette on Really Ree and immediately fell in love with it, so I decided to treat myself to it as a belated birthday present. I’ve been wanting some NARS shadows for the longest time because I knew how buttery and pigmented the formula was, so I’m super excited to have so many to play with! The formula definitely doesn’t disappoint, and the shades are so pretty and warm-toned, but with a few cool-toned shades thrown in. I’m actually going to be posting a full review soon so I won’t say too much, but I can already tell you that this palette will be showing up in my favourites at the end of this month!

The blogging community seems to be going wild over this brand at the minute, and since this serum was only £6 on Beauty Bay I felt it was only right that I gave it a shot. I have super dry skin so I’m always on the lookout for hydrating products, and although I’ve only been using this for a couple of days I can honestly see a difference. My dry patches that foundation usually loves to cling to have pretty much disappeared, and my skin looks a lot plumper and more hydrated. I’m really excited to keep using this and I love that I’ve found a great skincare product that doesn’t break the bank. If you’ve tried out anything from this line please recommend more products to me as I’d love to try them out!

So those were my recent purchases! I really hope you enjoyed this post, let me know in the comments if there are any products you’ve just picked up that I should try out! See you next time,

A x

You picked up some great products. I have super straight lashes that won’t stay put without extra strong waterproof mascara so I’d love to try the Too Faced one.

So many products in here I want to try! The palette looks gorgeous and I’m really beginning to love Nars, I do really want to try the concealer too even though you’ve said it creases! But at the same time I love my UD naked concealer I think it blends perfectly so maybe the Nars one might work for me! I also have a mini of the better than sex mascara from a Glossybox and still haven’t used it! Great post lovely

Amazing picks!! I love all of these, and really want to try The Ordinarys hyaluronic acid!

I’ve ran out of my mascara (better than sex – and definitely my holy grail too!) and eyeliner (KVD tattoo liner) and the thought of repurchasing them killlls me and my bank balanace haha. I love these picks so much! The hyaluronic acid serum sounds great. I’ve recently been trying skincare by Caolion (a Korean brand in Boots) and my skin is amazing from hyaluronic acid in their soap and day and night creams!
