Rimmel London Scandaleyes Mascara and Liner REVIEW

Processed with Snapseed.Rimmel London recently launched their new Scandaleyes Reloaded Mascara – a new take on the original Scandaleyes mascara with a brand new formula – as well as launching two new eyeliners, and I was lucky enough to be sent these products to test them out for you guys! There are a lot of Rimmel products that I really love, especially their lipsticks, so I was really excited to try these out. I’m also on the hunt for a new favourite mascara, so this was definitely perfect timing!

The new take on the original Scandaleyes Mascara not only has a new and improved formula, but the packaging has also been revamped. ‘Black’ is coloured a rich red-orange with gunmetal graphics, whilst ‘Extreme Black’ inversely mirrors the look of ‘Black’ with sleek black packaging and metallic orange graphics, giving both the mascaras a seriously edgy vibe. I received both shades of the mascara, ‘Black’ and ‘Extreme Black’, and I definitely prefer ‘Extreme Black’ purely because I love my mascara to be as black as physically possible. Both mascaras have a really great formula that doesn’t budge or flake all day long, and literally does not clump no matter how much you layer it on.

The idea of this mascara is to be completely sweat and smudge-proof for up to 24-hours, but is then really easy to remove with water at the end of the day, and it really lives up to this promise. I wore this mascara all day and it didn’t smudge at all, plus it was really easy to remove with my normal makeup remover! I did find I had to layer the ‘Black’ shade more than ‘Extreme Black’ just to make the colour dark enough for what I wanted, but this wasn’t an issue because the formula seriously doesn’t clump.

The brush is also awesome and huge; it builds length and volume really well whilst still separating and defining each individual eyelash. The only complaint I have is that this mascara has a really strong scent that’s almost petrol-like, but that goes away almost instantly so it doesn’t really bother me that much. All in all, I think this is an awesome mascara, plus for £6.99 it’s an absolute bargain, I definitely recommend!

I also received both of the new Scandaleyes Liners, the Thick and Thin liner which has a 3D slanted tip, allowing you to draw both thick and thin lines, as well as the Micro liner with an ultra-thin tip which is perfect for super precise detail. I love to use the Thick and Thin liner to line my lid and then use the Micro liner to create a super sharp wing.

Both liners are super black and completely matte, which is something that really matters to me in a liner, and last all day without fading, smudging or crumbling. These liners promise to be waterproof, smudge-proof, tear-proof, sweat-proof, heat-proof, humidity-proof… basically life-proof, and it definitely lives up to that claim!

The combination of both of these liners together makes it super easy to create a perfect winged liner look, however I do think the formula is a little dry and has the tendency to skip a little bit at times, but it’s pretty easy to go over any areas you’ve missed. Although these aren’t my absolute favourite liners they’re still really good, and I love how intense and opaque the formula is so I’ll definitely continue to use them, plus they’re great value for money at £5.49 each!

Overall I really love the new Scandaleyes range, especially the ‘Extreme Black’ mascara, and I’ll definitely continue to use all of these products!
