Summer-Inspired Look Book

Summer is my absolute favourite season, especially in terms of fashion. As a lover of all things beachy and boho, summer is when I really shine. When I’m not able to dress for sunny weather (because I live in rainy and miserable England), I’m buying summery clothes and wishing I could wear them – or just wearing them around the house to make myself feel better about the lousy weather.

I know most people prefer A/W for fashion because they can wear layer upon layer of cute items, but I’m here to tell you that summer fashion is where it’s at. Denim shorts, flowy fabrics and delicate bralettes speak to my soul, I just want to constantly look like I live at the beach.

Since I’m feeling so summery and this freezing weather is starting to get me down, I decided to create a Summer-Inspired Look Book to get me excited about all the outfits I’ll be wearing when the weather is a little warmer.

I’m not really a dress kind of person, but playsuits are one of my favourite things. I’m all about this rust/wine shade of this cute playsuit from Tobi, it’s the perfect colour for summer and really pops with a tan. I’ve really been loving wrap playsuits recently because I think they’re so flattering, but what I love about this one is that it’s a faux-wrap, so you won’t be having any ‘accidentally exposed’ moments because it can’t come undone!

For me this playsuit is such a standout item on its own so I didn’t feel like it needed anything extra, instead I paired it with a simple pair of strappy, tan sandals – because if they don’t scream summer, what does? You could easily dress this playsuit up with a pair of heels or down with just some simple sandals, I love how versatile it is. I couldn’t find the exact pair of shoes I’m wearing, but I’ve linked a similar pair below!

There’s nothing like a good pair of high-waisted ripped shorts for summer. Pair them with a cute top and boots and you can pretend you’re at Coachella. These Tobi shorts are perfectly distressed without making me feel too exposed, and they literally pair well with everything. I love how high-waisted they are too so they look awesome with crop tops.

This Free People blouse is one of my favourite things I’ve bought in a while, it’s so loose and flowy and I love the black and aqua colour scheme. I like to throw this on top of a bralette for an outfit that’s insanely comfy and effortless.

To complete this look I added a Western-style belt and pair of boots, both of which are from ASOS. I’m obsessed with the Western trend that’s happening at the moment, it just compliments my style perfectly. This is seriously one of my favourite outfits ever and I can’t wait for summer so that I can wear it everyday.

My final look is pretty similar to the second but with the addition of plaid. Plaid shirts have a special place in my heart, and I’ve built up quite the collection over the years. I love the deeper shades of this Tobi shirt, and it works so well with a pair of denim shorts. I kinda get a country-vibe from this outfit, which I’m all about (just call me Hannah Montana).

I really like its cropped style, and it’s perfect for those slightly cooler summer days. I also love to wear this over a simple vest top with a long necklace; who says you can’t layer in summer?

So that was my Summer-Inspired Look Book! I absolutely loved putting these looks together, and a huge thank you to Tobi for sending me some of the items from this post.

I hope you guys enjoyed this post, let me know in the comments what season you love to dress for, and which one of these looks was your favourite. See you next time,

-A x

I love these looks! My favourite has got to be the plaid shirt one, I might have to bring those back into my style as I used to live in them. I think I’d love summer fashion so much more if I was more body confident! x
