Travelling Essentials

I travel a fair amount, and over the years I’ve learnt what I do and definitely don’t need on a plane. I always take full advantage of my hand luggage and pack it full to the brim with essentials – after changing up my routine for a couple of years I think I’ve finally perfected the act. So I thought it was the perfect time to share with you all my travelling essentials and why you need them – here they are!

Long-haul or not, some form of entertainment is always necessary whilst travelling. Nothing sucks more than being stuck on a short-haul flight with no TV to watch and nothing to do – or even worse, having a delayed flight and trying to kill those endless hours. I always make sure to bring my phone with some earphones so at the very least I can listen to my music (plus with all the charging stations around airports nowadays, you’ll never have to worry about a dead battery!). I also would never travel without a book on hand, it’s a great way to kill some time – either on the plane or waiting for it. I’m currently reading the Dexter series, and I would definitely recommend them!

Getting a good sleep on a long-haul flight is always a difficulty, and when you do eventually fall asleep you inevitably wake up achy and sore. Neck pillows completely changed my life and now I never travel without them – they make sleeping in a cramped seat way more comfortable. I also couldn’t go without a good eye mask, it helps me fall asleep so much faster and blocks out any unwanted light.

We all know that cabin air is a nightmare for our skin, so I try as hard as I can to keep my already dry skin moisturised whist on a flight. I discovered the most amazing mask from the Sanctuary that was practically made for travelling; it’s a deep moisture sleep mask that goes on completely clear, so you don’t look like a complete psycho to the other passengers! I always keep a pack of makeup wipes on hand to wipe off the mask at the end of the flight, and finish my routine with a light moisturiser and hydrating spray (plus a load of lip balm, of course!). Remember not to take anything over 100ml though, because security will just throw it out! I never wear any makeup on a plane either because it’s so bad for your skin, so I always bring a pair of sunglasses with me to hide those dark circles! I also keep a hairband around my wrist just in case my hair gets annoying and I want to tie it back.

So those are my travelling essentials! I hope you found this post helpful, let me know in the comments what your travelling essentials are. See you next time,

A x

I definitely agree with all these essentials! Not to forget the snacks too and I usually take of extra magazines as well as a book, even though I usually fall asleep for most of the time. I wish I was going on holiday now!
