Trying Out Code Beautiful

I’m sure you all know that I’m a pretty big lip product obsessive – my collection keeps on growing and I doubt it will slow down anytime soon. Not only am I a hoarder of lip products, I tend to hoard a very specific kind: rosy nudes. You know, the classic ‘your lips but better’ shade? Yeah, well I can’t seem to get enough.

Thankfully, the girls at CODE Beautiful came through for me and helped me grow my collection even more. They kindly sent me over their lip plumping liner and gloss to try out, and I already love them.

If you haven’t heard of CODE Beautiful before, they’re a small beauty brand based in Manchester who (drumroll please) are also completely cruelty-free! They focus on creating amazing products that are handbag staples – they started with mascaras (which look awesome) and have now expanded their line to include lip products too. Here’s hoping for even more expansions in the future!

I love the packaging of these products, the all-black is really sleek but the pop of colour adds a modern twist. I love that the lip gloss has soft touch packaging too, I just find that so aesthetically pleasing.

I don’t have the fullest lips in the world, so I love lip plumpers to make them look a little poutier and juicier. The main downside with most lip plumpers is that it’s a very temporary result – but this is where CODE changes the game.

Their formula includes hyaluronic acid to deeply hydrate and help your lips become plumper over time – how awesome is that?! This also contains Hilurlip which helps to make your lips look more defined and contoured, giving you a fuller but still natural looking pout.

I’ve used this a couple of times now and I have to say, I’m really enjoying it. Although it has a slight minty tingle, it’s not as intense as some other lip plumpers and it definitely isn’t painful. I feel it gives me more natural, fuller looking lips rather than just looking swollen and red the way a lot of lip plumpers do. I can’t say I’ve seen that much of a difference in the long-term just yet, but I think I’ll need to keep testing it to see the full effect.

The shade of this is really pretty too, it’s not just a plain, clear lip gloss. It has a slight rose-tint which just amps up your natural lip colour a little bit – it’s stunning enough to wear on its own but sheer enough to also layer over lipstick. This retails for £20, and you can grab it here.

I genuinely think this might be my new favourite lip liner. Not only is this self-sharpening (hello innovation!), it’s also my perfect shade – a rosy nude. This is a really creamy lip liner – which makes it great for filling in your lips – but once it’s on, it’s on. I swatched this on my hand when I first received it and it was on until the next day, no amount of water was taking that baby off.

The natural, rosy shade makes this perfect for overlining your lips in a less obvious way. I love using this all over the lips like a lipstick (smudging it a little, of course, to look less harsh), which is actually the best way to use this because it helps to boost collagen, creating plumper lips over time.

I’ve been loving using this under the lip plumper for the perfect nude pout which lasts all day long. This retails for £18, and you can get yours here.

I’m really impressed with these lip products, as well as this brand in general, and I can’t wait to see how much they plump my lips over time!

I hope you guys enjoyed this post, let me know in the comments what you’d like to try from CODE Beautiful! See you next time,

A x
