Urban Decay Naked Heat Palette REVIEW + LOOKS

It’s been almost two years since the last Naked Palette, so when I managed to get my hands on the new one I knew I had to do a major post to celebrate. Now I know I’m a little late to the game with this review, but you can never see too many swatches, right? Plus I wanted to do something a little different for this review and actually create three looks to go with it, so you can get a full look at how this palette works. So grab yourself some tea and snacks because this is gonna be a long one.

As soon as I saw this palette I knew it was my favourite packaging yet, it totally fits the theme and the colours are so vibrant and fiery. I think this might be a little more bulky than some of the other Naked Palettes, but it definitely feels sturdy and good quality.

The brush in this palette is so much better than the brushes in the past (at least better than the one in the Naked 2); this has a fluffy but flat lid brush on one end and more of a crease brush on the other, both of which are pretty soft and awesome quality! You also get a decently-sized mirror in here, similar to the ones in the other Naked Palettes.

I was actually a little concerned that I’d made a mistake ordering this palette at first as I saw lots of negative reviews saying that the shadows were patchy and unpigmented, however this definitely isn’t the case – I actually have no idea how anybody could even think that! The metallics are practically foiled, and the mattes are super impressive too. The only ones that swatch a little less pigmented are ‘En Fuego’ and ‘Ashes’, but they definitely have no trouble packing a punch on the lid.

One thing I’ve heard a lot of people saying is that Urban Decay are too late to the game with a warm-toned palette and that nobody needs another one. I obviously totally disagree with that, whilst nobody needs hundreds of warm-toned palettes (unless you want to, that’s totally your choice and I’m pretty much heading that way anyways!) I think this one is pretty different to anything else on the market. I actually think this palette has a lot more deep and smoky shades than something like the ABH Modern Renaissance, and as someone who strictly wears only warm-tones this is a must-have in my collection.

These shadows definitely feel like a better formula to me than previous Naked palettes; everything blends flawlessly and easily but with super intense pigmentation. I did notice the tiniest bit of fallout with the shades ‘Ashes’ and ‘Ember’, but this isn’t an issue for me as I always apply my eye makeup first anyway. These shadows also have a little kickback, but that seems to be the case with most eyeshadows nowadays and I don’t find it to be a big deal.

I’ve wanted a naked palette for as long as I can remember but I honestly thought this one wouldn’t suit me because of the colours clashign with my ginger hair! So I’m so happy you did this post because this is now the palette of my dreams 😭
