Urban Decay x Game of Thrones REVIEW

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, I’m pretty sure you’ve heard that it’s the final season of GoT. To celebrate, Urban Decay launched a special collection inspired by the show, and as a huge fan I, of course, had to pick a few pieces up.

I believe the majority of products have sold out now (my bad for not getting this out earlier), but the Lip & Cheek Stain is still available! I don’t know whether or not they will be restocking, but I still wanted to share my review with you guys.

The collection contained four lipsticks, four eyeliners, an eyeshadow palette, a highlighter palette and a lip & cheek stain, as well as a vault containing the entire collection plus two brushes shaped as Longclaw and Needle.

I honestly wasn’t super impressed with the shades of most of the collection, especially the eyeshadow palette, so I only picked up the stain and highlighter palette. Ironically, both pieces are Daenerys-based even though I’m more of a Lannister girl myself, but what can you do?

The Mother of Dragons highlighter palette was the product I was most excited about, and it was just as pretty as I’d hoped. I’m a little annoyed that the shades don’t match the dragons, but then that wouldn’t exactly be the most wearable palette so I totally get it.

I love the holographic, scaled packaging and the fact that the shades are named after Daenerys’s dragons. All of the shades are really pretty and totally blinding – these are the most intense highlighters I’ve ever used and they last forever on the skin.

‘Drogon’ and ‘Viserion’ are my favourite shades, and they look especially pretty mixed together to create a soft champagne colour. ‘Rhaegal’ is a little too dark for my skin tone, but I love using it as an eyeshadow for a bronzey, glowy eye.

I definitely think this was the best item in the collection, and I’m so glad I picked it up!

I love lip stains, so when I saw this Dracarys stain I knew I had to have it. Stains are such an easy and subtle way to add a flush of colour, and I love that they’re sheer so they look really natural.

I had high hopes for this, but unfortunately I’m not really the biggest fan. It’s more of a sheer pink rather than a red so it barely changes the colour of my lips at all. However, I will say that this looks really pretty on the cheeks and it’s also super easy to blend out.

I’m glad I have it as a piece of Thrones merch, but if I’d just bought it for the product then I’d be pretty disappointed.

L-R: ‘Drogon’, ‘Viserion’, ‘Rhaegal’, ‘Dracarys’

I hope you guys enjoyed this post, let me know your thoughts on the collection and whether you managed to get your hands on anything! See you next time,

A x
