Winter Skincare with Dermalogica

If you are following me on Instagram then you’ll know that I’ve joined Dermalogica’s Skinfluencer programme, which is beyond exciting. I absolutely love Dermalogica products – they have some of the best skincare out there – so to be working with them is a dream come true.

To kick off me joining the Skinfluencer programme, Dermalogica kindly sent me across some of their best-selling products. I’ve been having a few issues with my skin recently (too much sugar/exam stress/wine I’m guessing), so I was seriously hoping this new routine would fix all that.

These products are basically perfect for keeping your skin soft and smooth throughout the winter season – which I desperately need – and after trying them out for about a week and a half I can already completely attest to this.

My skin is currently softer than ever and happily hydrated, so on that note, let’s start actually talking about the products.

SKIN SMOOTHING CREAM

I’ve tried this moisturiser before and it’s truly awesome, so I’m so stoked that they’ve released it in an even bigger size (100ml!). This moisturiser is incredibly hydrating, which I obviously love, and actually promises to keep skin hydrated for 48 hours with its Active HydraMesh Technologyâ„¢.

You don’t need to use a lot of this because it spreads pretty far, and it somehow manages to feel both lightweight and rich so you can get away with using it as a day and night cream. I also love the packaging because a tube as opposed to a tub makes it so much more hygienic.

This moisturiser is great for people with sensitive skin too because it has no artificial fragrances, so it doesn’t irritate my skin at all! I love the ingredients used in this formula – a hyaluronic acid complex with mallow, cucumber and arnica – which is super hydrating and helps the skin to lock in moisture.

This is a perfect moisturiser for the winter months – or any time, really – so I’d definitely recommend checking it out.

PRECLEANSE

The Precleanse is a cult classic for a reason – it’s absolutely incredible. This is definitely one of my favourite Dermalogica products, it’s unlike any other cleansing oil that I’ve tried.

Most cleansing oils/balms usually leave a greasy residue even after I’ve rinsed my face so I have to go back in and thoroughly cleanse my skin, but this one doesn’t! I mean, I still wash my face after using this, but it doesn’t feel like I need to.

This feels so luxurious to massage into your skin, it’s so soft and I kind of want to rub it on my entire body. It also smells amazing – super citrus-y and refreshing – and somehow manages to completely remove my mascara (Too Faced Better Than Sex Waterproof, for those of you wondering) which no other cleanser has ever managed.

I’ve been using this every single evening and I love how clean and soft it makes my skin feel – I can’t get enough!

SPECIAL CLEANSING GEL

I use this after the Precleanse every night and it’s such a nice cleanser, it really foams up but doesn’t feel like it’s stripping the skin of any natural oils.

This also smells like citrus which is so refreshing in a morning, and it leaves my skin feeling really clean and smooth. I’ve been using this with my FOREO to get a super deep clean, and I feel like it’s doing a really great of completely cleaning my skin.

You get a lot in the bottle too and you really don’t need to use that much, so I think this will last a long time.

DAILY MICROFOLIANT

I’ve always been scared to use an exfoliating product daily because I have such sensitive skin, but I trust Dermalogica so I decided to (hesitantly) give this a try.

I was surprised that this was a powder because I just assumed that it would be a liquid exfoliator, but you actually apply the powder with wet hands to create a paste-like scrub. This sounds like it could be quite messy but it’s not at all, the dispenser (is that the right word?) is fairly small so it’s easy to pour out the right amount without spilling anything.

I have been using this on a nightly basis and this, by some miracle, hasn’t irritated my skin – like, at all. I actually really love using this because it’s made my skin so much softer but doesn’t leave me red or rashy – what more could you want?

I’m so excited that I finally have a gentle exfoliator that does such a good job, it’s definitely a new staple in my skincare routine.

SKINPERFECT PRIMER

I actually didn’t realise that Dermalogica made primers, so I was super excited to try this out. I immediately noticed that it’s SPF30, which I love because it’s so important to protect your skin no matter what time of year it is.

This primer is an absolute dream product for me; it has skin smoothing properties so it helps to blur pores and fine lines, but it’s also illuminating (you guys know how much I love to glow)!

I don’t find that this makes my skin look super blurred, but I actually prefer that because I really love skin texture and hate the idea of things blocking my pores. This just makes my skin really smooth and even, and definitely helps in the application of the rest of my makeup.

The illuminating properties are really nice too, they give my skin a soft glow without being too intense, or worse – glittery. I really like this primer, and I’m so happy I finally have one with SPF in it!

As you can probably tell, I absolutely love every product I’ve tested so far – to the point that I’ve been making everyone around me touch my face because it’s so unbelievably soft. I honestly would recommend all of these because they’re awesome, but definitely check out the Precleanse, Skin Smoothing Cream and Daily Microfoliant if nothing else!

I hope you guys enjoyed this post, let me know in the comments if you’ve tried anything from Dermalogica and which product is you’re favourite! See you next time,

A x
