Glossybox February 2016 REVIEW

Today was a very exciting day because I came home to this month’s Glossybox! If you haven’t heard of Glossybox, they’re a beauty box subscription service, which sends out a different box each month full of 5 exciting beauty products! They offer a variety of different subscription plans, a monthly plan which costs £10 a month plus shipping, a 3-month plan which costs £9.50 a month plus shipping, a 6-month plan which costs £9 a month plus shipping, and a 12-month plan which costs £8.50 a month plus shipping.

This month’s box was based around the theme “Love is in the Air” for Valentine’s Day, which I thought was very cute. The packaging was even cuter, and makes for pretty looking storage (which is what I use my boxes for!). For a really sweet idea of how to re-use your old Glossyboxes, click here! In the February box, we were treated to 4 full-size items and 1 luxury-size item, which makes the price you pay for this box really worth it!

MUA Power Pout Glaze Low Voltage Gloss in Spellbound – £3.50

Every subscriber was treated to one of these lip glosses this month, and if you were a subscriber during November/December you were luck enough to choose which colour out of 6 you wanted – unfortunately I missed the memo on that one! This lip gloss is a lot more pigmented than I was expecting – the colour is quite intense – and it’s not sticky on the lips, which I’m super happy about. I do wish I could’ve received a different colour though, as I would’ve preferred a pinkier/more nude lip gloss than a red one. It does smell really amazing though, and I’m sure I’ll get some use out of it!

Nicka K New York 24H Waterproof Eyeliner in Dark Brown – £3.99

Another product every Glossybox subscriber received is a Nicka K Brown Eyeliner. This is perfect for me, as it comes with a built-in smudger/blender, so I can smudge out my eyeliner for more of a smokey-eye look. This eyeliner is soft and really easy to apply, plus it’s mechanical so you don’t have to worry about sharpening it!

Naobay Protective Hair Mask Volume Conditioner – £10.64

I received this Naobay hair mask in my Glossybox this month, which I’m very excited to try. This products smells amazing, like lemon and ginger which is so refreshing. I always love hair masks, as the ends of my hair can get pretty dry, so this was a welcome addition to my box.

Wilkinson Sword Hydro Silk Razor – £9.99

I found this quite an odd product to receive in this month’s box – I don’t generally expect razors in my beauty boxes! However, this razor is infused with marine extracts and shea butter, which are supposed to hydrate legs whilst shaving, something I definitely need with my sensitive skin. Although, I do already own the Gillette Venus for Sensitive Skin razor, which is an absolute life-saver for me, so it’ll be interesting to see how this one compares.

The Vintage Cosmetic Company Floral Slanted Tweezers – £8

As an owner of the cult favourite Tweezerman tweezers, I’m not sure I’ll get a lot of use out of these ones. They are cute though, so I might pass them on to a friend, but I’m not really in need of an extra pair of tweezers.

Overall, this month’s box was a little bit hit-and-miss for me. Although I think I’ll really enjoy the Naobay hair mask, I already own a razor and pair of tweezers which I love, and I’m not a huge fan of the lip gloss colour. However, it still did have a few good quality products in it, and hopefully next month’s box will be better for me!
