Guerlain Meteorites Collection + Terracotta REVIEW

IMG_0562

During a recent trip to my local John Lewis in Milton Keynes, I found myself perusing the make-up section (which is always dangerous in my case!), more specifically the Guerlain counter. I was served by the loveliest guy, Simon, who tried out a range of various products on me and taught me a load of tricks on how to use them, which was awesome! This of course meant that I had to buy at least something so I could review it for you guys, even though I really wanted to buy every. single. thing. If you live near to Milton Keynes and you’re interested in having the brilliant Simon try out some of these products on you, call 01908 325 390 to book an appointment!

One of the first products that Simon used on my skin was the Guerlain Meteorites Baby Glow, which can be used as a foundation or on top of your make-up almost like a highlighter. This product is supposed to bring back to your skin the glow you had as a baby, and it really is incredible! I was told to use this on the parts of my face in shadow, around the eyes, lips, along the brow bone and jawline, to make your skin look effortlessly glow-y. This really is a beautiful product, and comes in a pump dispenser for easy control of product amount.

I have the shade 2 Clair/Light, but it comes in 3 different shades. This really is light in a bottle, and using this on top of my make-up just helps to refresh my face and stop my skin from looking dull, which is something I really need during these colder months. This product retails at £35.50, which isn’t too bad for a product that’s a 2-in-1 of sorts. A little also goes a very long way in this product, especially if it’s used on top of make-up as a highlighter, so it’s a worthy investment. Buy it here:

This is a new take on Guerlain’s cult product, the Terracotta Bronzers, adding a segment of blush to the bronzer. To sculpt the face, use a fluffy brush to apply this in the shape of a 3 on both sides of your face, hitting the top of your forehead, hollow of your cheekbones, and your jawline, similar to how you would if you were contouring.

I got this in the shade 00 Clair – Blondes, which is made for fairer skin tones. This makes the shades very subtle, perfect to add just a flush of colour to my skin, which is nice because I usually avoid blush in fear of looking like a porcelain doll! The blush is slightly less pigmented than the bronzer itself, which works for me because I don’t want anything too bright, and the bronzer is quite light, giving a more natural look. This also comes in 3 different shades, with slightly darker bronzers and different shades of blush. This also retails at £35.50, and again is a 2-in-1 product, making the price a little more reasonable, especially from Guerlain. Buy it here:

The final product Simon applied was the Meteorites Light-Revealing Pearls of Powder. This is another product that Guerlain is well-known for, adapted for the new Meteorites collection. He applied this to my skin in the shape of a G: hitting the points on my face which would naturally be hit by the sun, my forehead, the tops of my cheekbones and just above the jawline. This has a very faint shimmer to the powder, which catches the light and makes your skin look beautifully glowing. It can also be used to set and blend make-up, especially on top of your eye make-up to bring the whole look together.

This product, again, comes in 3 shades. Of course I opted for the Light shade for my fair skin! The packaging of this powder is stunning, something which you could keep even after you’ve finished the product to hold jewellery. It also smells incredible, a sweet, almost candy-like scent that I’m obsessed with. This product is slightly pricier, retailing at £40, but this will last you a very long time, and it’s such an amazing product I’d recommend investing on this on it’s own if you don’t want to spend too much! Buy it here:

Here’s the final look! Simon did an amazing job, and it was so interesting to learn different tricks and techniques for applying my make-up. Honestly, my skin has never looked better! If you are anywhere near the Milton Keynes John Lewis, I would definitely recommend booking an appointment (or even just popping in!) to learn about Guerlain’s products and how to use them!
