The festive season is well and truly upon us, and although there may not be quite as many Christmas parties as in previous years, I still plan to dress up at every available opportunity.
Of course, buying new outfits for every occasion isn’t the most sustainable approach. Instead, I’ve decided to get one standout piece which can be styled multiple different ways – something I know I’ll wear festive season or not.
The piece I decided to go with this year is this gorgeous satin slip skirt from NA-KD* – the satin makes it super luxe, and the champagne colour just screams Christmas to me.
The wrinkle effect on this skirt makes it pretty unique (and looks way cooler than the unintentional creases satin usually gets anytime you move!). It’s such a simple piece, but really adds a touch of glamour to any outfit. Obviously it’s a very easy piece to dress up – all you need is a nice top and pair of heels and you’re good to go! – but this would look equally cute dressed down with a pair of trainers and oversized jumper.
Since I’m planning on styling this skirt for the festive season, I’ve created two outfits that are a little more dressed up: one is casual chic, and the other a little more luxe.
The square neckline makes this top super flattering, and its simple style makes it perfect for pairing with everything from jeans to skirts.
I love the pairing of these two pieces for a monochromatic look – it’s instantly stylish and completely effortless. The top is a stretchy and soft material too, so you can be super comfortable at your get together. Perfect for a wine and cheese night with friends!
For a fancier look, I couldn’t not pick this cream top*. The cream colour pairs so well with the champagne skirt, and the cropped fit shows just the right amount of skin (but won’t have you freezing in the winter temperatures).
The main reason for picking this top, however, is the exquisite back detail. It’s the perfect dramatic touch for a festive party, and makes the whole look a lot more glamorous. This top nails the ‘nice top and jeans’ brief, but when paired with this skirt you have the perfect cocktail party outfit.
I hope you guys enjoyed this post, let me know which outfit was your favourite! See you next time,
